Our Praise & Worship Service will follow  at 6.30. We do hope you will be able to come and show your love and thanks for all that John and Lyn did in the service of God for this village. Please advertise this to people who may like to come.

News & Thank you

April and spring is very much with us. The clocks have sprung forward and it is great to wake up to the dawn chorus as the birds get ready to build their nests and start all over again. At Easter time we are reminded that we can be reborn. A new start, we can be made new and cast off all that hold us downcast and be renewed and forgiven in Christ. Jesus died for us, so that we can be forgiven and set free and have eternal life. He doesn’t promise life on this earth will be easy, but he does promise that he will be with us and never leave us. God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble. We thank him from the bottom of our heart.

Isaiah 41: 10

Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

News I think most of you know the lovely news that Jo and Robert are going to get married in July. It is very exciting and will be the first marriage here at the church for ages. As a fellowship we want firstly to Congratulate them and wish them God’s Richest Blessings as they start their new life together.

Open Book We have re-started this group on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday. We are very small in number, but have enjoyed listening to Marks Gospel being read and then discussing any special things that may have jumped out at us. We usual go off at a tangent and have a laugh about something, but that doesn’t matter because it is nice to discuss things that come to mind. We end with prayer for the church, the world and individuals. Feel free to pop in and join us anytime, we would love to see you.

A big thank you goes to Sandra Wilson who organised a wonderful collection for Ukraine. She was helped by so many people who gave up their Saturday and the goods collected are now on their way to Poland, in fact they may have arrived by now. Thank you everyone who donated so many wonderful things. There will be another collection on the 9th April at the church. If anyone needs their donation picked up, please let us know. Thank you very much for your support, it is great to be able to do something to help.

Thanks as always to the Coffee and Chat gang. Thank you for all the wonderful and delicious cakes you make or buy. Thank you as always to Denise and Mandy for all their hard work. For the fun quizzes Mandy has delighted us with. For the fun we had on Shrove Tuesday with our mini pancake races and pass the pancake round the tables. Good fun and laughter was had by all.

Daphne continues to thin our front hedge out. She is working so hard and discovering things long forgotten underneath. Thank you very much.

Forward notice and details for the Easter Services: This year’s Good Friday service will be held at the Congregational Church at 10am. We will gather with the other churches at the Co-op at 9.15 for a short walk of witness, briefly stopping at different places before ending our walk at the Congregational Church. On Easter Sunday we have a family service at 10am led by Mrs. Carol Hutchings and followed by a fun Easter Egg hunt for the children. In the evening at 6.30pm Mrs. Norma Huxter will be leading us in praise and worship followed by communion. We do hope you can come. It has now been 2 years since we have been able to gather for any Easter Services.

PRAYERS

We give thanks for the wonderful signs of spring in our gardens and hedgerows, everything bursting new growth. How fortunate we are to live here and be reminded of this every day. Help us Lord to be thankful and not take Your creation for granted.

As we approach Easter. We also rejoice that we can be made new because of what Jesus accomplished by dying on a cross for each one of us. We rejoice that Jesus rose from the grave, death was conquered and we could be reconciled to God and receive eternal life. May the resurrection strengthen us to serve Him for the rest of our days.

We pray for all the activities of this church. Sometimes it can be very daunting with the few resources we have, to keep everything going ahead. But we give thanks that God enables us to keep witnessing for Him here. We pray for renewed strength, vision and support.

Ukraine This horrific war has escalated over this past month. The human suffering is just immense. What these poor people are enduring and going through brings us to our knees. We pray for the people of Ukraine, for those suffering, that God will be close to them and protect them. We pray for world leaders, for compassion, strength and wisdom to guide their choices. May we walk in your ways so that peace and justice becomes a reality for the people of Ukraine and for all the world. Amen

Pray for each other, many are going through very challenging times at the moment. We would continue to remember Brenda, Val, Roy, and others known to us, our loved ones family and friends who are unwell or struggling with anxiety, grief. We lift their names from our hearts to the Lord

Please continue to keep this fellowship in your prayers. We do praise God for the encouragement he gives us. We pray for guidance in all we seek to do for Him here. We pray for this village, for each person from the youngest to the oldest. We ask that Christian families may move into the village and find this fellowship to help use their faith in God service here. Please remember our brothers and sister in Christ, who live in the village and the other churches, we thank God for that continuing bond of friendship.

Please pray for our Country, Parliament and the Government. As a country we ask God to grant us wisdom, as we go through some very difficult months ahead. We pray that God will equip those chosen to represent us in Parliament with great compassion, integrity and honesty, especially at this time of crisis for us here and the World.

Please pray for the Queen, we give thanks for her Christian faith and values. Please pray for her successors, Charles and William that they may follow her great example
