THANKS & NEWS

Spring is definitely in the air! The clocks have gone forward and we look forward to lighter nights and longer days. The better weather makes us feel like doing some of the jobs we keep putting off. How amazing is it that all the colourful bulbs poke through all the weeds and rubbish and look so beautiful that cheers us up after our long dull winter. This leads me on to tell you that the Arch and Roses are now all in place in Anne Smith s memory in the church garden. I would like to thank Allan Gray for assembling the Arch quickly after getting a call from Anne s niece and nephew saying they would be coming down to plant the roses. They were both very impressed with all the preparation work which Daphne had done in the garden and of course the Arch itself. Also they very much liked the idea of the two Apple Trees which have kindly been donated and planted by the Parish Council. They thanked the church very much and thought Anne would be quite amazed and humbled by what we have done. I would like to thank Andrew Bugg who came and planted the two old local varieties of Apple Trees in the garden for us. He came with all the equipment needed to protect and stake the trees. We are very grateful to him. Please do go and take a look.

We have had a busy time at Coffee and Chat this past month with a few extra special mornings. A lot of fun was had at Shrove Tuesday, Pancake Day. A few brave people took part in the races and Ellen from Valentine House especial liked flipping the pancakes when we played pass the pancake. We have had extra quizzes and Mandy dressed up for St. Patrick s day and made us laugh. Thanks to Jeanette for teaching us another of her ditties from school for Mothers Day with help from Debbie and Christine. Thank you to everyone who donates cakes, biscuits and coffee to our Coffee Morning. We very much appreciate all of you.

Another big thank you to Break-Fill Four Tom and John s band for putting on a Charity Musical evening in aid of St. Francis, St. Mary s and also our church. It was great, and such a fun evening with a good variety of songs from the musicals. They have donated 50 to us which is fantastic. We will add it to our Church Painting Fund. Thank you very much.

The next stage in the Painting of the church is starting in June. All being well.

Psalm 147:3.4

He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds. He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name.

This is a reminder to us of how precious and known each one is. He knows us all by name!

EASTER TIDE

Lord of majesty, who entered Jerusalem to shouts of Hosanna just one week before You died on the cross, we worship You, who reigns over all, and rejoice that we have been redeemed by Your loving sacrifice and triumphant resurrection. Hallelujah! Amen.

We give God thanks for new life. Just seeing the green hedgerows appearing and bulbs pushing up through the soil and the lighter days and nights is so uplifting and renewing. It reminds me of the New Life we can know belonging to Jesus.

We give God thanks for all who support this fellowship in so many ways. May God bless you all.

Please remember all those dear ones in need of our prayers especially those who are grieving. We continue to lift Rebecca s family. Rebecca died leaving 3 young children. Lord Comfort, Protect and surround them and all the family with your love we pray. We also pray for Pat Maholland, her sister Maura, has recently died. We pray for the family that they may know God s love and peace with them all. Please continue to remember Erica, Margaret, Brenda, Shelia, Doreen, Judy & David, Barbara, Iris, and Val and Geoff in Witham. There are so many other people we know who are really struggling with depression, money worries, job worries at this time, we lift them to the Lord.

Our World is in much need of our prayers. There is so much uncertainty and fear in what has been happening in recent weeks. Our own Country falls into this and throughout the World. We pray for the people of Ukraine who have been so courageous, we pray that peace will come. The Middle East peace also seems to be on a knife edge. We now hear and see the terrible Earthquake in Thailand and Myanmar with so many people crushed and killed. It is shocking to see the devastation. We pray for all the emergency helpers and people who are bringing aid. Lord have mercy.
