News & thanks

Parish Assembly

Thank you Dave for representing the church this year at the Annual Parish Assembly and to Denise for supporting Dave and the church as well. Dave gave the report for this fellowship. It is an interesting evening when you hear about all the things that are going on in Silver End. We should be very thankful for such a variety.

Church Painting

I hope you have all noticed the church painting is finished and they have made a grand job too! We are really delighted to see our church looking so nice. Thank you, to all those who have contributed towards the cost of this project. A big thank you to Dave Cobb who managed, organised and liaised with Zoe the Painter. We hope at some point to paint some more when funds allow.

Church Garden, Please take a look at the beautiful foxgloves growing along the fence outside the kitchen door. Daphne has made such a super job of this area, tidying it up after getting rid of all those conifer bushes that had died., sowing grass seed and planting. Duncan next door very kindly keeps an eye out for the church. He tries to keep the front hedge looking nice especially after the youngsters push into it.

Coffee & Chat

Continues to draw a good number of folk in, which is delightful. We are so grateful to Denise & Mandy for all they do, organising and looking after everyone. That s not forgetting all those others who come very early and help set up, wash up and put away. A couple of weeks ago we decided to give the money collected on that day to Boars Tye House who were fund raising for Dementia Week, we sent 51 and a few pennies. They were really delighted. Thank you All

Psalm 103 (summary)

My soul, give thanks to the Lord, all my being, bless his holy name.

My soul, give thanks to the Lord and never forget all his blessings.

It is he who forgives all your guilt, who heals every one of your ills,

Who redeems your life from the grave, who crowns you with love and compassion, who fills your life with good things, renewing your youth like an eagle s.

The Lord is compassion and love, slow to anger and rich in mercy.

His wrath will come to an end; he will not be angry forever.

He does not treat us according to our sins nor repay us according to o9ur faults.

As a father has compassion on his children, the Lord has pity on those who fear him; for he knows of what we are made, he remembers that we are dust.

As for us, our life is like grass; we grow and flourish like a wild flower; the wind blows and it is gone no one sees it again.

But the love of the Lord is everlasting upon those who hold him in fear; His justice reaches out to children s children when they keep his covenant in truth, when they keep his will in their mind.

Give thanks to the Lord, all his angels, mighty in power, fulfilling his word, who heed the voice of his word. Give thanks to the Lord, all his hosts, his servants who do his will.

Give thanks to the Lord, all his works, in everyplace where he rules.

My soul, give thanks to the Lord!

Bless the Lord, O my soul;

O my soul, worship His holy name.

Sing like never before, O my soul.

I ll worship Your Holy name. (ten thousand reasons)

Jesus said, When you pray .and when you fast .do it to God alone. Matt.6:6-16

All you need is a quiet place; A quiet hour, A quiet heart

Our Prayers: Be Still! Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Wait expectantly before God with His Word, the Sword of the Spirit. Worship and praise the Lord for who He is. Contemplate the greatness of God, His power and His Love.

Prayer is divine energy and action is met by action.

Praying for the General Election July 4th and All willing to stand as MP s

At this time of campaigning, please help us to listen to Your voice, We give thanks that we live in a democracy and that we use our vote wisely. We especially pray for our Country.

Sovereign God, we know that yesterday, today and tomorrow lie under Your control. You rule over everything Power and might are in Your hand, and at Your discretion people are made great and given strength. May those to whom You have given authority to govern recognise this. In Jesus name. Amen (1 Chronicles 29:11-12)

Father God we pray for all students taking their A level and GCSE exams at this time. We remember also their teachers and parents who support and encourage them. We thank you for all Christian outreach in schools at lunch clubs and especially mentoring sessions.

As we approach the holiday season, we do pray for those going away for a much needed rest from their usual routines. But we remember those who are unable to have holidays, we pray that they may find times of refreshment and renewal in different ways.

We pray for those killed and injured on holiday in Majorca when a roof collapsed on them. Such a tragic accident when people were out relaxing and enjoying their holidays.

Please continue to keep this village in your prayers, especially pray for the Church in Silver End, that means Christians that live in this community who may worship here or somewhere else, but they are all part of the family of God. Pray that the Lord will bless this fellowship and help us to do his will.

We continue to remember Jean after the loss of her husband Michael, and all those who are unwell, or struggling with long term problems. We lift them to the Lord, Edward, Ted, Pat, Josie, Judy & David, Val, Doreen, Brenda, Iris and there are others know to us and God.
