THOUGHT FOR THE MONTH

Matthew 5:43-45 – Verse to think about!

You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbour, and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.

THANKS THIS MONTH

Thank you to Geoff and Carolyn for helping seal the church hall floors. Geoff did a brilliant job of showing Carolyn the routine, whilst I was able to get on doing some sorting out. We very much appreciate all the help that everyone gives to keep this church at the centre of this community. Thanks too to Malcolm and Pauline who have organised the new Banners and Posters, they are looking splendid. Also Carol for purchasing some new oven trays and tongs for the Breakfasts! Fantastic Effort Guys, Thank you ‼!

Suggested Prayers

You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.                   1 Peter 2:9 (NIV)

Lord Jesus Christ, as we prepare our hearts for Easter and reflect on our need for Your never-ending forgiveness and grace, please help us to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly before You. May we speak and live in ways that honour the poor and encourage all who follow in Your ways. Amen

Lord our Saviour, thank you that by Your death and resurrection we are reconciled with God, receiving His total forgiveness and loving grace. Strengthen us to serve You all our days. Amen.

We give thanks and remember all Mothers, Step Mothers and Grandmothers. We ask God to strengthen and encourage every women who has a mothering role, whether to her own children and Grandchildren or to others who need her care.

We pray for all families and those involved with the care of children in a wider context in this village. Childminders, Playgroup & Nursery School, Our local primary School, The Children Centre, and the Baby & Toddler Group, Guide & Scout Groups and HomeStart who work with families in need in this village.

We remember those in the fellowship that are feeling unwell at the moment, those who have worrying problems and hospital visits, We would also remember and pray for folk known to us who have family members and friends that are very unwell or going through difficulties. We remember Jan, Philip, Rita, Peggy, Austin & Pearl, Clare, Asher, Paul & Tara, Peter and Dorothy. Some of these names may not be known to you, but they are known to God. Please keep in your hearts too, those who lost loved ones around this time last year. We especially remember Pam, Gerald and Mark.

We give thanks for our friends from the other churches in the village. We pray that as we share together in God’s saving grace that we may serve Him in this community in practical and loving ways.

Please pray for all the trouble throughout this World. We especially think of the shooting at the school in America. We have difficulty understanding why they allow this to keep happening. We pray for the Middle East especially Ghouta on the outskirts of Damascus. So many people being bombed and killed, we pray for peace and an end to this war. Continue to pray for all refugees.

‘For the life of every living thing is in his hand, and the breath of every human being.’                         Job 12:10 (New Living Translation)
