THANKS & NEWS
Even though we have had 2 very cold, dark and damp months, have you noticed the first signs of spring. The bulbs have pushed up and some varieties of daffodils are already beginning to flower. Snowdrops, and Crocus too. Lighter mornings and evenings are also very visible. It lifts your heart and makes you feel excited for warmer spring time.
Daphne has been very busy in the garden digging the plot for the new rose bed. The tree has been removed and we discovered just how rotten it was. We do thank Tom and his mate for doing such a great job and leaving the church garden so tidy afterwards. Daphne has been trying to dig some of the ivy up which was around the tree stump. We are now waiting for Anne s niece and nephew Rebecca and Stewart to come down with the roses. We have also received the steel arch to be erected and fixed in place. The church is very fortunate that they have been gifted 2 traditional English Apple trees via the Parish Council which should be going in early this month. This is very much appreciated for future village people to enjoy. So it has been a very busy few weeks.
During the half term holiday, the church hall floors have been sealed again. A huge thank you goes to Jane and Daphne for their help to tackle this big job. We hope to keep the floors as good as we possibly can. We also had a visit from our yearly Window Cleaner who came and cleaned the windows inside and out for the same cost as the last two years, which is very generous of him. We would appreciate all hall users to take care and leave the halls as clean as possible. We only have a cleaner for two hours per week and the church and halls is a very big area to keep clean and maintained. Thank you

Psalm 147:3.4
He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds. He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name.
This is a reminder to us of how precious and known each one is. He knows us all by name!
Thank God for the encouragements you receive. Things that just happen, small and large when perhaps you are feeling low and just lift your day.
We give God thanks for the signs of spring and new life. Just seeing the bulbs pushing up through the soil and the lighter days and nights is so uplifting renewing. It reminds me of the New Life we can know belonging to Jesus.
We give God thanks for the Speakers who come and bring His Word to us each week. We thank Him that they are so willing to come over to Silver End. We thank God for this fellowship, for the buildings which are used throughout the week for all the groups who meet within. We ask a special blessing on each person who comes through the doors.
We pray for this country and our World. So much uncertainty for the future, so many problems and failings. We are very fortunate compared to many in war torn areas, so much pain and loss. We pray for the persecuted church. In the Congo last week 70 people including children were massacred, be-headed! Apparently 13 Christians are killed everyday for their faith. We never hear of this on our BBC News or any other news station. Why? We must pray for Christians in our own land and abroad as we are marginalized.
Please remember all those dear ones in need of our prayers. We continue to lift Rebecca s family. Rebecca died on Christmas Eve leaving 3 young children. Lord Comfort, Protect and surround them with Your love we pray. We also pray for Pat Maholland, her sister Maura, (Mrs. Rettinger) an ex-teacher from Silver End school has died. We pray for the family that they may know Gods love and peace with them all.
Please continue to remember Erica, Margaret, Brenda, Shelia, Doreen, Judy & David, Barbara, So many other people we know who are really struggling at this time, we lift them to the Lord.
