THANKS THIS MONTH

Thank you to Allan who has installed the old PA system into the hall, which has already proved useful during the Coffee Morning Egg and Spoon Race and Pass the Egg.,  Allan has also made a new metal and wood stand for the wooden cross. We really appreciate all he does quietly and without reward.

Thanks to Val, who also quietly and thoughtfully sends birthday cards on behalf of us all and provides the little Anchored Magazine and other bits from time to time. It is a lovely surprise to receive a special little note from Val. We can also add Margaret too! who is such a thoughtful and kind person. She is always passing on little gifts or items for the bring & buy at Coffee & Chat. Margaret keeps us all up to date with people and events at St. Francis & St. Mary’s, which brings the churches all together.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”                              Matthew 7:7

PROTECTING THE EARTH

‘The LORD merely spoke, and the heavens were created. He breathed the word and all the stars were born. He assigned the sea its boundaries and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs. Let the whole world fear the LORD, and let everyone stand in awe of him.                 Psalms 33:6-8 (NLT)

Lord we marvel at the beauty that is around this springtime. Your creation is seen in the beauty of the trees and blossoms that are in true abundance. We give You glory and praise, how it lifts our hearts after long winter months.

We have recently been reminded about our responsibilities to care for the earth. This prayer comes from CARE prayer diary.

Thank you, God, for shifts in people’s attitudes about our responsibilities for the natural world. Please show us how to be a force for good – by reducing waste, recycling, planting trees, and supporting initiatives that care for our environment. Amen.

Prayer is the most important activity Christians should be engaging in at this time. We especially pray for one another, to show Love for this village and our fellowship. To reach out to our neighbours and friends.

Lord Jesus, please bless your people in Silver End. May we be filled with Your love and the Spirit of God, we seek to follow and serve You. We pray that Your church might grow as Your Holy Spirit prepares the hearts of men, women and children. Protect us we pray, from the evil one who is out to destroy lives. We ask Lord that You would send workers to move into this village to work alongside other Christians to bring about the furtherance of Your Kingdom to the Glory of God. Amen.

Please pray for Roy’s son-in-law, Ian, who is seriously ill. Remember all the family at this time. Please pray for Beryl and Michael they need our prayers.

God, please continue to instil with integrity and strength the elected representatives of the UK Parliaments and Assemblies, and members of the House of Lords. Help them to put the welfare of the nation and its people before personal and party concerns. Amen

Prayer: for families Heavenly Father, we pray for families of all shapes and sizes in our society. May Your love bring commitment, harmony and sense of belonging to children and adults. Please protect those who are in families where there is disunity, discord and danger. Amen.
