THOUGHT FOR THE MONTH

I waited patiently for the LORD, He turned to me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay. He set my feet on a rock, and gave me a firm place to stand. He has put a new song in my mouth, even praise to our God, Many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.                                         Psalm 40:1-3

A New Song to Sing

God heard my cry when I was in despair due to my behaviour. I was in a horrible pit of hopeless darkness of sin. God took me out of there and gave me hope (Psalm 40:1-2). He showed me mercy and grace and brought me to Jesus. He showed me the truth of the Bible. He made my life new.

John saw God’s people singing a new song (Rev. 5:9,13:3) You will be one of them someday if your life here on earth belongs to Jesus. But you don’t have to wait for heaven to sing to Jesus. Sing songs of praise today and every day for all the blessings He has given you-and especially for the gift of salvation.

Are you going through a difficult time? Is your heart in a dark place? Call out to Jesus. He will listen to you and will bring you out of these things and give you a firm and rock solid place to stand.

Suggested Prayers

‘Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen….And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.’    Hebrews 11:1,6 (ESV)

We would ask for prayer for this Fellowship, and the church meeting on the 14th October. Our recent Focus Day raised lots of thoughts and ideas, which we hope to build on. Our diary is busy from now until December. Please ask for God’s help and guidance.

We pray especially for our own local school the Head, teachers, support staff and especially the children. Pray for all schools locally, we seek God’s blessing and protection for our young people. We would include Pre-school, Silver Tots, the Children’s Centre and all the uniformed youth groups in our village Please remember also C.Y.O. as they work in the local schools teaching and supporting young people in Jesus name.

We pray for this Country as Parliament returns and those elected to serve us. We pray that they will hold their office with honesty and integrity and serve their constituents. We pray especially for the Prime Minister and pray that You Lord will guide and direct them in their leadership. We know that we are going to go through a difficult time. Please give them Your great wisdom.

Please continue to pray for healing for Dorothy Hamilton, Lesley, Clare, Jim, Ola and Eileen. We remember and pray for Doreen Blowers, Sandra Wilson and Eva, may God comfort them in their sorrow.

Pray for the World. Pray for North Korea, America and China. Pray also for the recent devastation in the Caribbean after the two hurricanes. We continue to remember Syria and all the Middle East, and refugees throughout the world. We especially pray for Christians persecuted because they belong to Jesus. Our hearts go out to all. Lord, please draw close to those who are suffering and give them comfort, rest and peace.

‘Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again. God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful.’                                               1 Thessalonians 5,23,24 (NLT)
