THANKS &NEWS

A BIG thank you to all who worked so hard to make our Heritage Events such a success. Thanks also to those who came and supported the church. All monies £157.88 donated are going to little Elsie’s fund.

A Huge Welcome to Karen and Nick who became members of the church recently. It is so lovely to have some younger input into the continued work here.

It is with sadness that our ‘Singing Group’ has decided to stop, due to age and lack of numbers. It was started around 35 years ago by Lyn Parker getting her Young Wives and Tuesday Special Group together, at that time we also had some men. Olive Cornfield who was our organist took over the group when Lyn took a step back. The Choir entertained a number of Residential Homes over the years and has also been a big part of the church, singing on all special occasions. We have also shared with St. Mary’s Rivenhall at ecumenical services and helping their choir at Weddings and Funerals. It has been a great privilege to have been part of a group who enjoyed singing and using our voices to Praise God, uplifting ourselves and others in the process.

There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven.                                   Ecclesiastes 3:1

‘If I go up to the heavens, you are there…If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast’.                                        Psalm 139:8-10 (NIV)

Suggested Prayers

We once again give thanks to God for the wonderful Harvest, safely gathered in for another year.  We are always amazed how blessed we are in this Country, with the richness of our Harvest fields, hedgerows, gardens, allotments and orchards. We have so much to be thankful to God for. We also remember the farmers who struggle all over the world because of extreme weather conditions, flooding, droughts and heat waves.

We thank God for all His faithfulness to us as a fellowship. We Praise Him and Celebrate, as we look to the future here and re-dedicate our church in His Name and for His Glory.

Please keep this village in your prayers, pray for your neighbours friends and relatives who live here. Remember the other churches and the close bonds we share. We pray especially for the organisations which meet within the church halls. Help us to forge new relationships and ways of welcoming them to closer ties within the church.

Pray for C.Y.O.(Christian Youth Organisation) as they work in the local schools teaching and supporting young people in Jesus’ name.

We pray for this Country as Parliament seems to be so much at odds with each other and the Country as I type this. We are supposed to be leaving the European Union at the end of this month. Whatever happens we must pray that God is in it all and those elected to serve us will uphold our democracy. We pray that they will also hold their office with honesty and integrity and serve their constituents.  We know that we are going to go through a difficult time whatever happens. We pray that you will take away any fears that people may have. Please give all those in Parliament and local authorities Your great wisdom.

Our church family –We continue to pray for Roy and his family. We also pray for Mandy Bugg and family at the death of her Mum, Laura one of our coffee morning ladies. Please pray for Beryl and Michael they continue to need our prayers and Carl their son. Remember Anne and family with the loss of her brother in law Peter. Please keep in your prayers those who are struggling with their health, we especially remember all who are living continually with pain.

The faithfulness of the LORD endures for ever                    Psalm 117:2
